The President leaves to New York to attend the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly

Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the President, departed for New York this afternoon to participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The President is scheduled to speak at the 79th session of the General Assembly on Tuesday, 24th September. In addition, he will take part in the “Summit of The Future” and lead important conversations, as well as engage in events during his visit. He will additionally convene with top officials from different states and nations for bilateral and multilateral talks.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is attending the UN General Assembly for the first time. His arrival happens at the same time as the 59th year Maldives has been a member of the United Nations.

He is joined by a delegation from the government at a high rank.

Following the visit, the President is expected to come back on Sunday, 29th September.
