President shares a message on Commonwealth Day

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his gratitude for the unity of the Commonwealth family on Commonwealth Day, emphasizing the importance of unity in driving collaboration and addressing shared challenges.

The theme of this year's Commonwealth Day, "Together We Thrive," resonates with the Maldives' commitment to unity, resilience, and progress.

President Dr Muizzu emphasized that the Maldives values the Commonwealth's efforts to promote the interests of small states, such as climate resilience, access to finance, women's empowerment, and youth development. The Maldives reaffirms its commitment to democracy, human rights, good governance, and sustainable development, as enshrined in the Commonwealth Charter.

In his message, the President stated that the Maldives is ready to strengthen its partnership with the Commonwealth and its Member States to ensure a future where every Commonwealth citizen thrives. The President also shared a post on his official X account to mark Commonwealth Day.
