President discusses prolonged pre-trial detention with relevant authorities

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with authorities to address concerns about individuals in prolonged pre-trial detention.

The meeting focused on issues raised by advocates and discussed the development of an electronic monitoring system to provide a second chance through supervised release mechanisms. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Attorney General Uz Ahmed Usham, and Prosecutor General, Justice (Retired) Uz Abbas Shareef.
